Aimed at a slightly younger audience, the second book is titled The Curse of Maleficent: The Tale of a Sleeping Beauty and is the same story told . sleeping beauty I'm Maleficent! The scenes in this book are medeieval looking and it even shows some of the seasons that pass. This might not be the way that you see Sleeping Beauty often depicted. The princess, Briar Rose has long red hair and she wears a knife around her waist, in true medieval princess style. This is definetly a good change for the story. Sleeping Beauty was one of the few fairy tales that made me pause and actually wonder what on earth anyone could find instructive/helpful about it.
